Weather changes along the route

Road journeys use actual road geometry where available. Ferry journeys use an indicative sea track between selected ports and show wind, waves and conditions at both ports.

Important: this service does not predict cancellations or sailing bans. Always check the ferry operator, port authority, official forecasts and traffic notices.

Reading the indicators

🌫 Fog

Visibility is modelled. Values below 1 km are highlighted but never replace actual road conditions.

❄ Frost

Risk uses temperature and precipitation. It cannot know the temperature or treatment of every road surface.

↔ Crosswind

The wind component perpendicular to travel direction is calculated. Bridges and high-sided vehicles need extra care.

⚓ Ports

Values represent a model grid point near the port and may differ inside sheltered basins.

🌊 Sea track

Distance and duration are geometric estimates, not an operator timetable or the vessel's actual track.

📢 Official advice

Sailing bans, cancellations, road closures and emergency warnings must be confirmed with official sources.
